i took my phone to a SE service centre for a repair (CPW fort dunlop)
and he asked me what network it was on and i sed o2 cos it had my o2 sim in it but it was orange branded. and he sed my warrently was void cos it was unlocked.
i sed to him orange MUST give a unlock code on request therefore how can it void my warenty.
they wanted to charge me £75 to look at the phone

Sounds like a part time worker who perhaps doesn't know whats what.
and whats this 75 pounds they want to charge regardless of whatever the problem is anyway?

Is it SE he should complain to? or the place where he originally purchased the phone who then, if neccessary, should refer it to SE?

Under the terms you agreed with CPW you can only get it repaired under THEIR warranty if you take it in as the package you bought, so if you bought it on Orange you should put the Orange sim in it, the fact its unlocked is not their concern.
If your taking it to an SE service center as a SE customer (Even if its in CPW premises) then provided the phones under 1 year & 1 month old you should get warranty work for free.

i got it seccond hand and i have had it for 1 month. the phoen was unlocked. and i had my O2 sim in it when he was taking my details. on a lighter note it was a problem with the screen and SW so i got a SW upgrade to R8a and a new LCD for free form the dude i got it off. all done in under 1 hr.
but it has voided my warenty i think by leting him do the work as he is not a SE ceritfyed centre. but i have 1 yr on the screen and till week 5 next yr and he will fix for free till then so im happy i jus have 2 dents in the front where he overtightned the screws and crushed the spacers
