Me and my brother both have T610's, both on Vodafone. But why are they so different?
Mine came in a sony box, had a sony manual and has not got Vodaphone written all over the handset. My brother's had a vodafone box, manual and the handset is badged with Vodafone's logo.

My one also has different menu icons (which look to be of better quality) and on the main screen, my right button has 'more' above it where as the other one has Live! there which doesn't go away when the theme is changed. There are also some other subtle differences such as to lock the keys on mine I press more then *. My brother has to press C *.

Is my phone older?, does it have incorrect software on it? is it unlocked and I wasn't really supposed to have it?? Hopefully someone will have an answer to my questions.

Cheers everyone.

You are one of the lucky ones, your brother however is not.

one phone is a factory standard T610, the other has been destroyed by Vodafone.

So is there any way of resetting it? His is still a great phone, its just that somethings arent as good. The icons in the menu seem to be really poor quality for example

If you do a search you will find a guy who is developing a flash solution to change t610 changed by the operator back to plain vanilla flavor ones. This message was posted from a Nokia

Does the 13 second trick set it back to normal and take away all the vodafone stuff? Is it safe to do this?

And whats this about a hissing problem? I haven't heard about that.

Hi....i got the T610 on Vodafone too......a bit peeved that the menu's are vodafone customised.....a lot of problems recently with Live! too. What is the 13-second trick, and what exactly does it do to the phone? Is it safe, and will it invalidate the warranty?

Also, is there any way to delete pre-defined items on the phone- there are a number of rubbish pics that Voda has placed on there, and it does not allow you to delete them- they use a lot of the phones meagre memory.

Will Vodafone carry out any of theses procedures?

Getting Vodafone to unlock the phone does NOT take away the customisations (how I wish it did) even when you put another SIM in they're still there :-( . One thing about this phone which is really daft is that Vodafone's wap profiles are locked so you can't delete them or edit them, the data accounts that go with them aren't, this you can delete the data accounts and have 2 useless profiles that you can do sod all with also Blodafoneup won't take responsibility for a phone that they've altered :-( This message was posted from a T610
