Its not a software bug at all. The last few SE T-series phones have all done this. Apparently its to protect your ears, but IO can't see the point in it if you ask me !

Don't get the feature confused with the "Increasing Ring" option, which although does the same sort of thing, takes longer to increase the tone.

I think its good, it means if u got your phone next to u,u dont get the crap scared out of you when someone rings, plus u got about a second to turn the sound off (c key) incase you left the sound on in the library lol!

Yeah how smart of the SE developers..
I really don't like this feature.. Other brand phones doesn't have it contantly on increasing.. They give you a choice..
SE wont give us the choice..

I really hate it, I answer the phone before the melody is even hearable... And even so, they should have it louder..

exactly my point too. we should have the choice whether we want the crap scared out of us or not!!

the ppl who do could turn the feature off and the ones who don't could turn it off.... it just shouldn't be imposed on everyone

I dislike it as well. The thinking is good that protect ears. But I personally like normal ringtone insteand of incremental. Please, SE, give us a choice.

Hope that it will come with next release of FW.

I also agree that it sucks. Polyphonic ringtones are there to be heard. By the time a ringtone kicks in on my phone, I've answered it already. Totally defeats the point of having "Loud 32 Layer Polyphonic Ringtones" to me
