> T68i PIN request then freezes
Bookmark topic
Hi All,
Had my T68+R5D0007 for 7 months now.
Two months ago, it developed the problem that periodically, when left switched on (and the key-lock activated), when I go back to the phone to use it, it has the PIN request screen showing.
I then enter the PIN and it's as if the phone has just been switched on again (it does the start-up sequence). The phone starts up as normal, but then freezes (so I know it's not just the battery being loose - besides, it's in the

mineral-greay belt holder).
If I hold the 'No' button down, it plays the switch-off tone, and the backlight goes out, but the screens stays on. I'm forced to remove the battery, reinsert it, and then all is well again.
I took the phone back to Carphone Warehouse, and they sent it off to be flashed with new software - sadly, they flashed it with R5D007 again (and it took them 2 weeks)!
I'll be going back to CPW again with this - the phone's less than 12 months' old.
What do you guys think I can reasonably request of CPW?
Cheers,
Steven.
(I love my T68i and old T39m - which also had to go back once - but I never had any problems with those damn Nokias...)

You can reasonably request another firmware flash - (if you go to a CPW repair centre then they will do it in a couple of hours). If you continue to get this problem then you should be able to claim a replacement.
Regards,
Phil.

Hi Phil,
Right, located my nearest walk-in repair (just down the road from where I work) and they said if I take it in tomorrow morning, they should have it done within an hour or so...
Now get this - they (CPW) said that the latest firmware a T68 can take is R6xxxx!
So, what's the difference in HARDWARE between the Ericsson T68 (which I was sold under the guise of a T68i) and the

T68i?
Cheers,
Steven.

There is a big difference in the hardware which is why they require different upgrades. (dont ask me what the differences are though!).
t68m upgrades usually come out a couple of weeks after the t68i versions. I seem to remember though that there was a version of R7A available for the t68m's and that CPW were doing it.
