the T610 has just been released in australia but im wondering if i should get it now or wait a little for when a better phone comes out.
What is there in the field of competition for the T610 atm, 3G is available in austalia. I would also like the other phones to be equal to or better then the t610 in terms of features.
Thanks

I am in Australia, and whilst I have had my T610 now for over a month, I have to say it is still and will still continue to be the best phone for my needs for the next 6 months or so.
If the rumoured clamshell version of the T610 comes out (Z200 or Z600/610 - whatever it is called) this may be of interest, but there is nothing official on this yet.
I have been tempted with the 3g deals "3" have available here at the moment ($99 max call cap! Yeah!) but I have to say - the NEC and Motorola 3g phones blow chunks for usability! Who designed the NEC interface? It is shocking!
Once the SE Z1010 comes out then I'll seriously think about going 3g, but that isn't due any time before the beginning of next year (so I have heard).

As far as other competitors are concerned, the only other phone I would be interested in would be the new Handspring Treo 600, but that isn't due until next year either (and it has an external aerial- whats up with that?).

Shane.

im in australia and im getting my t610 in a few days
i thought long and hard about which phone to get especially at the 3g phones but ive come to the conclusion that the t610 is the best i can do for what i can afford and looks and sounds like a fantastic phone although coming from my nokia 3330 i dont think it will be hard impress to impress me
as for the 3g phones there are very few models acailable and from what i can see there only real selling point is the video conferencing and no one i know has one of these phones or is interested in getting one so who am i going to video call
just my opinion

the Siemens answer for the T610 is the MC60
also build in camera, triband, GRPS, MMS, JAVA, ...
More expancive
But NO: Bleutooth, 'only' 4k color-screen, and 16-bit polyphones.
So in that case: go for the T610
