> IRDA synchronisation: does it work for you?
Bookmark topic
Having read many posts in this forum it is clear that irda synchronisation with xtnd connect pc and outlook works for some people, but for others it simply does not work at all. Unfortunately, I fall into the latter category.
Personally I find this unsatisfactory - having failed even to identify the source of the problem I emailed Ericsson technical support but received no reply. I do hope the folk from Ericsson read this forum so they get some idea of the frustrations of users who have shelled out large sums of money for their mobile phones that don't work (or at least seem not to work with a pretty standard pc/windows setup).
Maybe we could start a bit of a thread on other peoples' experiences. Just say whether you've been experiencing problems with outlook synchronisation, or if everything's just fine, post your operating system, t68 software version, outlook version and irda adaptor make.
Here's mine:
Outlook synchronisation: doesn't work
Problem when synchronising with outlook: "unable to detect phone" (other applications using the phone and irda such as GPRS internet are perfectly able to "detect the phone"
O/S: Windows XP
Outlook: Outlook XP
Ericsson phone: t68
Software version: R1B
IRDA adaptor: Tekram iRmate 410U
That's all folks.

OS Win98
Outlook 2000
phone T68
Version R1B
IrDA connection using NEC laptop.
It works. Although I've only done this a few times. I just usually send files such as backgrounds and ringtones.

I had BIG problems when I tries to sync my Outlook contacts with my phone.
The only thing I found out was that if the Irda speed was set to high it didnt work.
Error messages as "couldnt find phone" etc.
But when I decreased the speed it worked fine.

I have the exact same problem with almost the exact same hard/software!! Ant it`s SO anoying!
We can trie some of the solutions mentioned above, but somehow I feel that the combination t68, XP and IRmate is a poor combination...
Mine also works fine with connecting to the internet.
This is what I got:
OS: XP pro
Outlook: 2000
IRDA: Tekram IRmate210 (set to 38400)

Well, having tried all the solutions people suggested (unsuccessfully) I finally heard from Ericsson.
This was their reply:
Dear Mr Lane,
Thank you for contacting Sony Ericsson,
With regard to your enquiry, Ericsson handsets are not currently compatible with Windows XP. There is a software patch in the pipeline, however a release date is not currently available.
Should you require any further information please do not hesitate to contact us.
Kind regards

XTNDConnect for Palm
T68m / R2A
IRDA : MA-600
No problem at all ! Sync like a charm, even with the IR speed set at 115200...!!
