> IrDA and T68i problems
Bookmark topic
Hi!
I recently bought a T68i, and now i want to play with the IrDA thing on the phone. I have an IrDA in my PC, that have been used with a Nokia8210 earlier, so I know it works. But I can't get it to wotk with my T68i. The PC have recognized the IrDA hardware in my PC, but the phone won't connect with it... what to do ?
I have installed Mobile Phone Monitor, downloaded from this site, is there more I need to install to make them "see" each other ?

On Windows XP you don't even need MPM, it should recognize it as a connected device. Works smoothly with me...

Well.... I'm using Win2K
Maybe the only way out is to buy a BlueTooth module !?
Is there any known problems with R5C001 software and IrDA ?

Wait a second before you buy a Bluetooth dongle (that's what they call it ;-))! How did you use to connect to your Nokia?

Okay, I would'nt buy it before next payday anyway
I just held the Nokia infront of the IrDA "eye" and a Icon appeared in the taskbar. After that i could use f.ex. logomanager or whatever, to transfer logos and stuff...

That's exactly what should also happen with your new phone :s Be sure to activate the T68i's infrared port, you might have forgotten that...

Nope, It's activated allright...
It just worked a few minutes ago, the icon appeared in the taskbar. Then i tried to start "S/E Image Editor" it still said that no T68 is detected....

It usually takes a while 'till the SE program \"sees\" the phone, be patient. Windows detects it quicker.

You shouldn't bother using any third party software for sending/receiving files. Every m$ OS has support for IR (post win95) so you need to fanny about with crap apps.
Sending and receiving - built in IR app
syncing - MPM or similar
backup - cristensons backup
remote use - FMA
