I had so many applications on my p800 some are useful and some are not so good . I fell that my p800 is becomming slower day by day and temp files are been created everywhere in c:\ drive ..!!

I want to know that if i master reset my mobile then , will everything be ok i mean will the temp files and the softwares will be removed ?
and then i can only install that softwares that are useful .

MY MAIN PURPOSE OF RESET IS TO REMOVE ALL UNWANTED FILES FROM DRIVE C:\ ...!
HOW SHOULD I DO IT ?

A master reset should reset the phone to the state it was in when you bought it, so I think it'll do. This message was posted from a T300

Well master reset is the only way according to SE to get rid of all unwanted files. Downside is that you will loose everything. Meaning contacts, sms etc.

But a backup will put the phone back to the state it is in now. It's just an image of your current data. So if it's slow now, it will be slow after you put the backup in your phone again after the master reset. Just keep your contacts in outlook or windows address book.

Oh! is thats so ...
so is there a way to restore custom data only? like we do in windows ...
Or can i copy the contacts.cbd file from the c:\system\data so that i can replace the file afterwards ???
But when i try to copy that file it onto my harddisk the files size is 0bytes where as the origanal size of the file in phone is 172 kb ..
I copy file through file manager ..
Any helps .....!

Even if you could copy contacts.cbd you wouldn't be able to replace it with the existing one since it's in use the second the phone starts. Meaning "you can't delete this file because it is already in use" or maybe an error like "This is a system file which you are not allowed to access"
And I don't know of a way to restore "custom data". Well not even SE knew about it. Would be a nice feature just to have a backup of contacts, sms and well whatever you like. I mean if SE made a synch options which allows you to control the backup at a more advanced level.

172 kb? That's HUGE for a contacts file! At my T300 it's only 10 kb with about 200 contacts... This message was posted from a T300

What is the real diffrence if you do a master reset or if you go to the service menu and chose the option of format internal disk?
