I recently bought a P800 and have been using it for a few months now. The problem is that there are quite a few scratches on the screen underneath the flap where you write with the stylus.

I find it quite annoying that this happens after so little use. I refuse to use displex like polishing pastes or screen protectors on a device of this price !

What are your experiences ?

Why won't you use a screen protector?

Would you use one on an item at haf the price of the P800?

The P800 cannot guarantee to be completely scratch resistant, so that's why people buy Brando's and the Overlay Plus.

Seems to me most ppl would be MORE inclined to use a screen protector for a device at the price of a P800..... to protect their 'investment' a bit better!

I should say I refused to use these things because:

- I didn't know of their existence until I started looking on the internet to see if other people were experiencing similar problems.
- I think that one should expect a certain quality from a device of this price. Scratching after a few months with normal use (according to manual etc.) should not happen.
- If you replace the screen, the problem will probably come back in time.
- A manufacturer should deliver a good product. Scratches caused by normal use or even a silly thing like sharp edges from plastic moulding on the stylus are just not acceptable !

Anyone experience with replacing a screen and SE warranty ?

@JimmyP800

Seems to me (as a lowly T68i user) that your expectations are alittle on the high side... Buy a screen protector. Thread closed!

Any manufacturer won't cover scratches which categorise as wear and tear in their warranty! They'll go bust if they do so.

Sounds like returning a car after a while lurk because the tyres word out. Buy the protector already. This message was posted from a T300

for gods sake people of course should be liable for this type of thing
i have u big scratch up the middle of my screen caused by the stylus that i got with the phone the screen SHOULD not scratch as easily as it does for a product of this price it shouldnt be an issue, im talking about scratches from the provided stylus etc
As the screen is used in the way you'd normally use buttons on another non touch screen phone, it should be more resistant to scratches
if my buttons on my phone got damaged from normal use id be within my right to have them replaced and indeed have done so im defo of the believe should've made the screen tougher
