The Cingular dealer I boutght my T68i from seems mostly incompetent.

Is there a way to fully backup the original factory firmware before I let this guy try "upgrading" it? (It's R3A023.)

Also, does any site exist where folks are working on custom software for the T68i? (I don't mean Java, Morphun, etc. I mean direct ARM and AVR code.)

Well, you can supposedly use the "Remote Client" at US$10 a pop. The same one that people use to unlock their phones.

Use christersson.org's PhoneBackup. This message was posted from a T300

Flashing kits for SE are getting cheaper. You can get one letting u unlock, flash, backup firmware and change languages without emma II for about 50$.
