Hey all,
I have the opportunity to purchase the T610 or the Qtek 7070 for basically the same price, which one should I go for?
Has anyone used Qtek for any significant amount of time to give me a good advice?
Pros T610:
* Bluetooth
* Smaller
* Java & Mophun? (Don't know if it's a pro...)
* Integrated camera
* Easier to get plug-ins...
Cons T610:
* Obvilously the crappy first batches with hardware faults.
* No socket support in java
* Screen in sunlight
...and now...
Pros Qtek:
* Better screen
* MP3
* Internet Explorer
* Messenger
* Better camera
* Video Recordings
* Smartphone platform with LOADS of utils and programs
* Very customizable
Cons Qtek:
* Rumored to crash a lot
* Rumored to have crappy sound
Well, I will be able to use whichever phone for 14 days and switch to the other if I'm not satisfied, but I could really use some help from you guys out there with more actual experience with the units...
Really appreciate the help
Best Regards
Niklas

Cons Qtek:
It has a Microsoft based OS. That alone is enough to stay away from it.

@MaThIbUs
Make your own point of view by reading this review:
(for info SPVE100 is 100% the same as Qteq7070)
http://reviews.zdnet.co.uk/review/2/1/5060.html
They rate it 8/10

Not a stupid comment at all. First of all there is nothing that says that my computer is using windows at all. So I don't have to stay away from my computer for this. But I do have a Windows machine as well as a Linux computer and an Amiga (which has a great OS).
Secondly.. Windows is quite usable today after they released Win2k. All Windows versions before that were crap. Look at how many revisions Windows had to go through before being reliable. Win 3.11, Win95, Win98 and WinME isn't reliable and far from stable. It took them over 5 years to come up with a reliable system. And look at WinCE or PocketPC as it is called today, it took them 5 years to get WinCE/PocketPC usable as well. The first years of there handheld computers based on WinCE were crap and very unstable.
The same timeframe will most likely apply to their mobile phone OS effort. Microsofts phone OS might be usable in 4-5 years, but nothing I would trust today.
Just look at the first Microsoft mobile phone products they are just crap/slow/unstable.

All the sudden everyone is jumping at Microsoft...
Well, saying that it will take Microsoft 5 years to make their operating system perfect... Look at SE, they've been in the bussiness for how long? And look at the T610 with all it's flaws... Nothing ever gets "perfect".

True, but Microsoft has stability problems. And I'm hardly the only one who has had a crashing Windows machine. And WinCE had huge stability problems for years. "No smoke without a fire".
I've heard horror stories about stability problems on the Orange SPV Microsoft based phone.
And stability isn't the only problems for Microsoft. Security issues are a huge problem, and with their track record of security problems in Outlook, Explorer, and in Windows itself I find it hard to believe that it will be any different in a Mobile phone.
Who wants a phone that you have to download security patches to once a week. I don't that's for sure.
As a side not my T68i hasn'r crashed one single time since I upgraded to the current software (R5C), and that is more than 7 months ago. Please also note that I use GPRS, Bluetooth etc heavily.
