> T610 O2 Alert Freezes Phone

I've received a few O2 alerts today (you know the ones you get when someone sends a free SMS via their website) and each time they arrive, the screen turns white, the clock turns black and it freezes like that for about 10 seconds, before displaying the message alert as normal.
I have received them okay in the past. I don't know whether my T610 has suddenly developed a fault (unlikely) or maybe O2 have screwed up? It did take 4 hours for a test SMS to arrive this afternoon...

Software forum that the new R1L firmware fixes this.

I think the T610 has this problem whn it receives an SMS from the Web, it freeses or hangs up for a matter of 10 seconds or so. Other users have also reported this and i had the same problem. Just try to do a search you may come across the previos threads. It only happens usually when an sms comes from the web.
I think this problem has been sorted out in the R1L firmware.

Call 08705 237237 to find out where your nearest SE Service Centre is, visit it and get the firmware updated!

And I apologise for not looking in the Software section first...
Can I just turn up at an SE center (after calling them in advance) and they do it there on the spot? Don't really want to have to send it away.
I'm also assuming it'll wipe all my settings, so I'll backup first!

It depends on the SE Service center you visit. Call them up and check if they have a service where u can wait while they upgrade your firmware. It takes about 30 mins if the service center is not very crowded.
Its safe to make a backup always.
