> T68i restarting by it self

When i slide my T68i down my pocket at work, and then an houer later when i come home and tak my T68 out of my pocket the screen kindly asks me to pres in my PIN number. How strange is that?
Anyone know what this could be all about? Is it maybe a good reason for getting a T610 if my waranty is out? I was hoping on holding on to my t68 for a while longer thoug...
the vital specs that i think anyone would like to know if anoyne would have the awnser to it is that it is a T68i with softwareversion R7A013.

mine is prone to doing that as well, it could be that you are pressing the off button and then pressing it back on, being that you do have yours in your pocket while working.
its just a thought because that was what i was doing.

make sure you have a new and clean sim card... dirt on the contacts (either on the simcard, or the simreader on the phone) can cause the phone to loose contact with the sim... also, if the simcard is old the contacts on it may have gotten bad...
another thing to try is to do a master reset (take a backup of the phonebook if you still want it, but don't backup phone settings, since they might be causing the reboots)...

Hey, this has been my problem recently too!!
After about 5 months, I noticed that my T68 (R5D007) was doing the same - keylock on, worn on my belt or in a pocket, it would demand my PIN, which I'd enter, it would seem to restart, and then more often than not, freeze. I'd have to take the battery off to get it going again.
I had R5D007 reflashed at a
service centre (Carphone Warehouse), but the problem came back after just one week. I then got R6A flashed, but I'm sure it's happened once in the week since I picked it up.
Cytech's explanation sounds plausible....

Same thing here. For the last two weeks it reboots itself every F*cking day. And when I put the pin in, if I press the menu button to lock the phone, it freezes and I have to take the battery out. So usually I wait like 1 minute after it reboots in order to lock the keys.
Last time I flashed the phone was back on January with a R5D007. Maybe it nees reflashing or as said above clean the SIM.

I cleaned the Sim .. But that doesn't help either

might be that you dropped it... the drop might have caused some circuit to come loose a bit from its soldering...

I had R5D007, and the same problem as you et al. I had R5D007 reflashed - 2 weeks later, same problem. I then had R6A012 flashed - 2 days later, same problem.
Today, I exchanged my 18 month old SIM card for a replacement (took 2 hrs to become active); I'll keep you posted!
