to my never ending regret i dropped my t610 and apart from a scratch on the bottom there doesnt seem to be any internal damage
i was just wondering everyones opinion on durability for SE phones
from past experience i know that nokias are pretty much tanks when it comes to dropping i had a 3330 which took a fair punishing

i think they are pretty durable but the problem is unlike nokias u cant simply buy a cheap new case if u break yours. I have my t610 insured against accidental damage so I can get the case replaced, only problem is they said itll have to be sent away to SE and will be away for about 2 weeks! i cant live without it for that long especially since they give out triums as temp replacement!!!!

I accidentally dropped and threw in anger my T39m lots of times. There was NOT A SINGLE SCRATCH on my display (i'm guessing it's treated with something or it is reinforced - crystal maybe?). Then it started failing because of the beating it took - it would shutdown when pressing on the lower right corner of the display. I sent it to a SE servicepoint and they gave me a new one because they couldn't figure out what was wrong with it.
As for my old T20e - I forgot it on the top of my car and started driving. The first time i hit the brakes I saw it sliding down the windshield. Picked it up and was still working (had to restart it though - the sim must have moved).
As for my very first phone, a S868 (please don't laugh - this was quite a few years back) - i dropped it so hard so many times that the metal strip surrounding it bent a little bit.

Not owned a Nokia, I don't intend to!
Having said this, the charger on my T65 is playing up, but I think the actual adaptor is faulty not the phone. I'll have to managed till I finally get my T610!

The charging system seems to be the weakest link so far. For my T20 was major trouble after 6 months, and its starting to behave with the T39 too. Maybe they should reinforce the wire more near the plug...
I droped the T20 so hard that the slider lost a halve, but worked fine. On the other hand the slider of the T39 started to work very slow and glitch in less than 3 months. I saw this problem on other Ericssons with the same type of slider.
And yes the T39 screen seems scratch proof
Same is the material and assembly; simply superb. I am planning a T68 soon, I just hope they did a similar job on assembly and materials...

AFAIK, the Ericsson phones used to have glass screens - nokia use plastic.
The only problem I had was with my old t28, where the slider wore out and will only work with some twiddling.
