Hi guys,

If any of you follow the my-symbian forum you may be aware that there are two running threads for custom startup and shutdown videos for the p800.

Through some team effort myself and other users have managed to get these videos to work (I actually go by the name ihardcastle on this forum). Eddie cracked the video and I cracked the audio. Other users such as Edit 21 have also created some audio samples with my settings.

For the matrix startup created by Eddie and sound by me and loads more videos created by myself and a guide to create your own then check out my site http://www.ihardcastle.free-online.co.uk

Creating your own comes with some risks. Please read the guide carefully to avoid potentially serious problems.

Enjoy

I've been using the one of them (futurama), and have never had any problems with it. It might be a good idea to backup you phone before you try the first time, incase something goes wrong..

Its nice & short & it fills the screen nicely, very good work men !

(dont get confused between sysdata & system/data)

Hi guys,

Glad you like the vids.

I have fully tested the videos that are on my site and they work just fine.

There are some do's and dont's though.

DON'T rename a shutdown to a startup if it has sound it will crash your phone.
If you follow the guide to create your own then please double check everything before trying it. If you are still unsure about a startup then save it as a shutdown file and try it. At least if it is wrong your phone will startup again and you can delete it.

Email any questions to my email address on the site. I can't always check the forum as regular as my email.

Later and thanks.

Oh, I have some more vids in the works that were requested by regular on my-symbian. I will reveal all later.

Imagine DD on phones, cool. Well maybe not, not much point. Maybe some day when its practical. It will probably be 10.1 by then.

The file manager you can get from http://my-symbian.com in the uiq p800 section. Its just called file manger I think and its free.

Enjoy guys

Just a quick update,

I have just updated the startups again to make them centered on the screen. I have fully tested all of them so they should work fine.

You may notice they are slighty brighter. I have been playing around with the brightness. But the main thing is they are centered. I will fix the brightness later.

Enjoy.
