Bookmark topic
Hi guys, newbie in this phone and forum. Recently just got my phone and does all the T610 have a slight flicker when you navigate the menus and when using camera. Sorry but this is my first 65K color phone, pardon my ignorance.

When I first read about it, I thought it was a problem with certain handsets - another 'bug'...
but it's just the way the screen works (being STN)... it's barely noticeable (I only see it on the charging screen and camera), although I guess certain people are more susceptable to it (like with PC monitor refresh rates). I really can't notice the flickering when using the phone's menus, even when I stare at the screen!

Hmmm, it's not normal though. People already reported having T610s which didn't have the backlight flicker problem. The T300 and 310 don't have any backlight flickering like that.
I think it's being caused by the CPU draining power from the backlight, which is an indication of a design flaw or probably a bad component.
I'm going to get mine exchanged, the flickering is really annoying when playing Mophun games.

CPU draining power? Interesting . . . but how come it is especially noticable whilst charging. Surely charging the battery is not CPU intensive?

There is no flicker in the desktop or menu. I think I *might* have seen something after 5 minutes of staring but it was probably my eyes. There is a slight flicker when running mophun, slightly more noticeble flicker in the camera (still have to look for it to see it in both cases), and almost impossible to notice flicker in java. These are the conclusions I came to after having a 10 minute staring contest with my T610 03w24 STN screen.
