Perhaps I've got the same problem with the MA-620.

I'm using Windows 98 and the program of mobile action works a little, that is, it can download the phonebook and sms messages, but it just cannot change or update the phonebook on my T310.

Even more important, I can't send files through the IR to the T310!!!

So no new themes, backgrounds, screensavers.... and believe me, I tried (almost) everything....

Guess IR or MA-620 just does not work with Windows 98

Forget about using third party apps to send/recieve stuff. Let windows handle it. To send, go to the file you want to send in my computer, right click, send to, then infrared recipient. This message was posted from a Nokia

Have you installed your ma 620 as an irda device in windows so it shows up in the device manager, this way you use windows irda monitor to transfer the files to and from your phone, this is what I had to do with the ma 600.

i followed this procedure which was given with the cd.BTW there should be pictures under the text.

Install MA-620 Device Driver

Note: Before installing hardware, please insert MA-620 software CD-ROM into the CD-ROM drive of your PC and it will start to install automatically. If the MA-620 software CD does not auto run, please double-click the Install.exe in the CD-ROM root directory manually.

Please select your language.

Please select Install Device Driver. If the MA-620 has not been installed to your system, Setup program will copy necessary files to the system.

Please click OK to restart the system.

Next, plug the MA-620 to the USB port of the PC. PC will automatically detect MA-620 and install driver.

After the following screens appear in Windows 2000 and Windows XP, insert MA-620 software CD in the CD-ROM drive and click OK to continue.

Note: When installing MA-620 in Windows 98, original Windows 98 CD is required to install some files. After the device driver is installed, Windows 98 and Windows ME users must restart the PC.

Thank you all for your suggestions!

However, I have followed the procedure of installing the MA-620 several times, but no effect. Installed ma 620 as an irda device in windows and it shows then in the hardware list, but Win98 gives an error message (not correctly installed, or something) when trying to configure the IR stuff (in My Computer)

And I do not use 3rd party software for sending etc but indeed use Windows, i.e. right click and send the thing through IR. As said, it does not work (same error message). And the funny thing is, I installed in on my Win2000 system at work and it works perfectly, at once!!

Other suggestions....>?

Have you tried reducing the IR speed and setting it to half-duplex on the PC?

I can assure you that Ir works on Win 98, out-of-the-box, with the other Ir adapter I recommend most.

Allright.
Reduced (again) the speed to 38k4, but could not yet find the option for setting it to half duplex.... Still simply does not work. I will try to find it and modify it. If that all does not work either, I'll put Win XP on my computer. Guess I'm really tired of trying....
