Two days ago an icon appeared on the default screen on my T68i. It looks like a phone over a keyboard (two rows of tiny squares - top row with four, bottom row with three).
I have looked through the product manual and there is no mention of it there. Does anyone know what it is? Why did it appear? What it means and how do I get rid of it?

check the latest version of the manual since icons can have been added/changed since the manual you got with your phone was printed...

I already did that for alect when I saw the thread but I didn't see anything fitting that description there either. I also checked the T610 manual in case there was something similar.
Got me curious now!

could it be an icon indicating that a chatboard is in use?

Well I feel like an idiot. By fiddling around I found the problem - the icon stands for TTY. Somehow I have a TTY accessory added - and it has a profile. That profile was selected (i think by accidental keystrokes while phone was in my bag) and this profile shows the icon on the screen.
I learn something new every day. Still don't know what this TTY accessory is.....?

teletypewriter (TTY)
A printing telegraph instrument that has a signal-actuated mechanism for automatically printing received messages. Note 1: A TTY may have a keyboard similar to that of a typewriter for sending messages. (188 ) Note 2: Radio circuits carrying TTY traffic are called "RTTY circuits" or "RATT circuits."
Think its the chatboard
