I got the new version last week, it's called the SPV E100 on the Orange Network, but it's no longer exclusive to Orange. I got one from PPCW.net where they sell it under the i-Mate brand.



The major differences to the original SPV are the screen and tweaks to the form factor. The buttons have been made larger and the D-Pad is gone in favour of a Joystick. Other than the new screen it's the same hardware and OS underneath.

The screen is vivid and bright in all conditions, using a transflective display with 65k colours (as used in the more recent iPAQs ranges).

And the standard SD card expansion is great - just slipped in a 265MB SD card and had hours of music to hand. 512MB cards are starting to hit reasonable prices too, cheapest one so far I've seen was about $125.

the spv e100 aka tanager aka smart amazing phone, is what we have here in the philippines for months now. the newer model which will be released soon is the spv 2 aka voyager, which has an integrated camera, bluetooth and microsoft smartphone 2003 operating system.
