> SMS area info on T610

On older Ericsson phones I have used, you've been able to set it to display area info on the desktop rather than the operator's name. Is there a way of doing this on the T610? It's not an option in the SMS settings where it has always been on previous models.
I used to like this because it either showed me the local phone code or sometimes a bit of text telling me where I am. It's not something I really need, put I prefered it to the operator's name.

The menu option seems to only appear if supported by your operator. Go to messaging (5) , then area info (7) . I tried this with uk orange, o2 and t-mob and it doesnt appear - only appears on voda. BTW it does not replace the operator name as it is shown below it

I didn't realise it was a service that's network sensitive. That does explain it though because I used to be with Voda before I got my T610 and now I'm with Orange.
I assumed it would replace the operator's name because that's what it did on my T65. Most probably just because that had a smaller screen though and there was no room for both.

It works for me. I'm on O2 and setting code to 200 gives the local area phone codes. BTW it does replace the operator code. I can't get the other codes to work though.

Didnt know that. Just tried my o2 sim again and youre right. On voda however theres no need for a code, and the local area code is displayed directly underneath the operator name
