I have recently bought a T610 on a Vodafone Contract. (I now hate Vodafonne !!) However, there now seems to be a few Flash upgrades appearing to remove all the Vodafone crap they have put on the phone. One site in particular is
http://www.sonyericssonserver.com/eng/index.htm
However, I need some advice on the terminology used. Can someone please explain what the following mean ?
1. GDFS FLASHING and UPLOADING
2. EMPTY and CLONED BOARDS, FLASHING and IMEI UPLOADING
3. AVR CPU FLASHING and LANGUAGE Changing
4. ARM CPU FLASHING and LANGUAGE Changing
These are the options on the sonyericssonserver website but which one would I need to remove the Vodaphone Live crap. Also, has anyone tried it, is it Safe to use. I presume I would invalidate my warranty if I did it ?
Finally, it says I need a T28 cable. Is this different from the data cable used to connect to your PC ?
I'd appreciate any helkp or info here as I'm desperate to remove any trace of Vodafone (last time I get a contract with them, that's for sure !!!)
Thanks

It will most definetly invalidate your warranty. Also unlocking your phone/changing IMEI might be illegal in your country. 3rd party software used to apply the flashes (and sometimes the flash files themselves) can be modified/buggy/unsafe.

Ignore this thread now. I've taken my phone back and cancelled my Vodafone contract.
