Yes they can be re-written. If they are for symbian based phones, not to sure. There are developer docs on ericsson.com. I have pacman on my t610 and it did work on nk3510i but was magnified. Played fine though. General java games should be ok but size may be to big or small. This message was posted from a T610

orangeman:

Are you sure the games can be re-written? at least without having to re-write the entire program?

Most games for Nokia's are developed for MDIP 2.0 or whatever its called, while SE uses MDIP 1.0 on their phones.... (Correct me if i'm wrong)

it would be real nice if they worked or if you could make them work.
there are lots of cool games for Nokias, and nearly none for the T610.

I could simply kill for a bust-a-move clone, Prince of Persia etc.

I know what you mean m8, I'm fed up with my m8 playing Splinter Cel and Prince of Persia when I'm sitting there playing games like Alien Scum!

U can get pacman from tagtag.com/mpd it will be on my wap site soon. You can re-write nokia symbian games-series 60 etc to work. The white paper is on ericsson site. S/W upgrade may add version 2.0 support later on. There is a thread under java forum from se about this. Though they have not confirmed it yet. This message was posted from a T610

All the Java Phones on the market should support MIDP 1.0. Nokia have added their own class API (Nokia UI API) which programmers can use to get the most from the Nokia phones (like having access to the full screen, ringtones etc.).
The games mentioned "Splinter Cell", "Prince of Persia" and so on uses the full screen, hence using Nokia specified classes, and will not work on any other phones than Nokia.

But one could always send a mail to the developers at Ubi Soft and ask them if they would create a version for the T610
