Hi there,
i am searching for options to upload sound from my pc to the T610.
Does anybody know how to convert sounds (wav,mp3) so that I can use them as ringtones? Is is possible generally? Do I need a bluetooth adapter?
Please help me.

You don't need a bluetooth adapter, but it's definetly easier with one. You can use IR as well. Maybe cable too though I don't know of any software that would send tones over cable (to T610).
As for converting WAV/MP3 to a format T610 can read (MIDI for poly, monophonic formats are not interesting) it's practically impossible. I had a program that can analyse a wav file and try to make a MIDI file that sound like it, but the end result was horrible. So you would be better spending your time looking for original MIDIs.

If you are not scared by high gprs fees
upload your sound to public server and
point your wap browser to that url..
for example i open up my wap browser
press more
select Enter address
and type in url
for example:
www.hot.ee/vr/indiana.mid
it will ask you to download the file press ok(its some indiana jones theme song)
the same goes for pictures..
www.hot.ee/vr/45.gif
its animated gif and eats up 100kb real space..
please children and fans who think Garfield the cat can never do anything nasty... please do not download this pic
btw both of those 2 files were downloaded from
a site , yoyu all know that site

You can't upload MP3 to T610
You can't upload WAV either.
So what can you do?
1. convert your MP3 to WAV. If you can't select the wav format, use a decent WAV editor (not Windows Sound Recorder!) then convert the whatever WAV format to this one:
WAV Mono 16bit 8khz and this one only!
2. Goes to myT610 website and in the tools section download the AMR->WAV converter from Miksoft.
3. Install.
4. Convert your WAV formated to AMR format with this program.
5. Upload to your T610 and play!
IMPORTANT: as for the animated gif, keep the file size as small as possible or the T610 will run out of memory trying to play it.
I don't have R1L firmware yet so can't tell if it works but with R1A you need to put the phone to your hear to listen to the AMR file.
Once you have the tool, you can of course do the opposite:
record something with your T610 and convert the AMR to Wav so you can hear it on the PC. (which makes more sense)
Hope it helps!

I can confirm that it's the same for R1L.
Can't use AMR file for ringtone....
Can't even listen to it without putting the phone to the ear.
But for the Anim GIF it's a real improvement.
