It is reported that more recent batches of T610 have rectified some earlier problems such as hissing sound, slow incoming call picture loading,... Somebody mentioned the firmware version R1L should be free from these problems. How do I find out what version of firmware a T610 is installed with? What is the latest firmware version for T610? Thanks.

Where can I get the R1L firmware upgrade? Can I download it from somewhere and send it via BT?

You upgrade the phone firmware in Sony Ericsson Service Center. During the standart warranty period such an upgrade is free. If you upgrade the software by any other means you void your warranty.

Welcome scip. As a new member today its well worth you browsing the forums for a while as these questions are answered many times over. Hissing is fixed with a hardware change, not firmware. The slow incoming call picture is fixed with firmware version R1L. To check your firmware version do

where are joystick movements.

Finally, R1L013 is the latest firmware and it came out mid last week.

As Wrath said:

You have to let do the upgrade. You can't do it your self.
Just go to a servicecenter and they'll do it for free if you
have warranty on your phone.

Cheers

Just phone SE and ask them where your nearest service centre is. You should be able to find the number for your country either in the literature which came with your phone or on the sonyericsson.com site.
