I just called "Phonebox Communications" in the Kingfisher Centre, Redditch.
They informed me that they're a Nokia Service Centre and don't deal with Sony Ericsson phones at all. They provided me with the phone number for Gittins Communications (see above).
Here's another place that can do firmware upgrades, although apparently this store is ALWAYS busy and the guy who does the upgrades isn't always in-store.

I can confirm that the Cribbs Carphone warehouse do firmware upgrades, I got my t68i upgraded to the latest firmware last weekend. Early Saturday morning is usually a good time to go in as they arent as busy. I had an hours turnaround on mine which was pretty good and no lost settings either
