I have a T300 with Li - Po battery. Which gives better life for the battery. Charging it up full whenever possible [eg., Daily] or waiting till it completely discharges and then charging it up fully ?

Regards,
Deepak

Lithium Polymer batteries are very different from Lithium Ion and Metal Hydrite batteries. Lithium Polymer batteries hate to be discharged and fully discharging/draining will damage the battery in the mid or long term. You will charge the lithium polymer battery when ever you want because there is not a risk of overcharging, but try not to drain it to the minimum level.
Ipaq pocket pc's uses lithium polymer too and I put the unit on the charger/craddle when I am not using it. I have never experienced a problem about lithium polymer battery of ipaqs for 2 years.

You can recharge Lithium Polymer battery 500-1000 times before you start getting significant performance loss

BUT my T68i with lithium polymer battery is now old 1 year 1,5 months -- and I ALWAYS let it go so empty that the phone switches off. And then I charge it, usually 10-12 hours.

And the battery is still great - AVERAGE standby more than 8 days.

Just to clear things up.

Lithium Polymer and Lithium Ion batteries ARE NOT very different. Anyone who says they are, will need to read up on the matter a bit more. The real name for Li-Polymer batteries are really Lithium-Ion Polymer. Polymer is just a name for the gel contents it uses instead of liquid.

The only difference is in that Lithium Polymer batteries are easier to mold, and does not require a thick wall around it to function.

Both Lithium Ion and Lithium Polymer do not suffer from the memory effect that other batteries does, but it might take a few recharges before they reach full capacity. They cannot be overcharged as long as the phone circuitry works, and they last 750-1000 recharges total.

Ni-mh batteries on the other hand, have a lot more problems, and are not typically found in Mobile phones anymore.
