...Where can I find more info on how the T39 (and 68) handle e-mails? I wanted to know if the phones delete the messages off the server (or can this be set), how does it handle HTML formated mail, how does it handle attachments, etc. ?

Yes it does delete the mail from the server once you set it to be deleted
I'm not sure how it handles attachments or html

My understanding is that these models have a (relatively) standard 'POP3' client interface, which is one method of message delivery.
I use the word 'relatively' as not all features have been harnessed. For example, out-bound emails cannot be authenticated as you could configure in MS-Outlook. (Hence why we can no longer send out emails using Yahoo, as they are now enfocring authentication)
That aside, I believe that the T68i is also IMAP4 compliant.
Have a read up about POP-3 to understand its features. Check out :

@jhermano,
1. HTML, cannot be displayed. I have HTML email subscription with AsiaMiles and body appears as blank.
2. Attachments, are indicated in the header but cannot be viewed.

@jhermano,
1. by default, the phone email client "leaves mail on the server", so no need to set it up.
2. if you want to delete mail, you have to use "mark for deletion". you can only delete mail if the server does not require authentication, which the client cannot do.
3. if you don't want to receive, then do not configure POP3. you may get an error though, but just ignore it. if your provider requires POP3 authenticate first, then this will not work.

HTML coded mail can't be read...
Attachments can't be stored on the phone...
AND if you get a "big" email (around 1Mb) the phone just die and restarts. That happen to my T65.
Any one getting the samme problem with "bigs" email on their T68, T65, T38, or R520 ???

ok, follow up again (maybe not the last). I finally tried to receive mail from my phone since there was no risk of loosing anything important.
Funny I didnt realize that the phone would do it one email at a time. So the risk of the phone choking can only happen if you open the wrong message. My question now is, how do i clear the email inbox of the phone without "marking for deletion" off the server? I basically dont want to use more phone memory than I should (the phone is slow enough as it is) so i dont like storing messages on the phone.
Thanks a lot for all your help

Wap works!
Email works!
Last thing to try, using it as a GPRS modem for my laptop. Will keep you guys posted.
I've never felt so connected!

I not long got a Ericsson T68 i think it's the best phone i've ever had so far. The only thing that dissapoints me is where to get the t68i upgrade. I live in Thetford in norfolk and i got in contact with carphonewarehouse and they told me it would take 2 weeks for them to get the upgrade done for me but i cant go without my t68 for that long cos i love it so much so could someone please tell me somewhere local i can get it done in a day.
