I recently (3 weeks ago) got a w23 r3b t610 from an Orange shop. AS it appears firmware upgrades are becoming available what is the story for Orange branded phones - is this arranged via Orange - or do I go to a SE service centre (prob carphone warehouse) ??

Service centres do it, but Orange flash all the replacements in the warehouse

Also just a warning, A lot of SE service centers dont like to flash orange phones because it breaks some of the orange firmware changes. I knowthe t610 has the ability to have basic firmware+operator changes, so it may not be a problem, but they didnt like to do it to the t68i's

@declanh - it means any future replacements from Orange usually have the latest approved s/w verison inside.

They eventually came around to the T68>i s/w upgrade - I can't see any probs with the T610, they did mention a new P800 s/w version the other day - so T610 should be on the cards aswell.
