Bookmark topic
Hello,
This is my first time on this forum, so please be gentle!
I have a T610 and a Clie SJ33. I would lkie to know if there is anyway of transferring photos taken on my T610 to my Clie via infrared. I do not have a Bluetooth card for my Clie so I wanted to see if it is possible to transfer via infrared. Does anyone know of a way or any software that can help?
Thanks in advance!

So IR is not the way to do it I guess as noone has replied.
I think I will have to download the pictures to my PC via BT then link them to my Clie from the PC.
Can anyone recommend a cheap BT adapter for my PC (Windows ME) and do I need any software?
Thanks once again.

Whats the problem???Activate IR on your Clie, go to my pictures on your T610, select the picture, press more, send , via infrared (make sure the IR on both devices are aligned)

When I read this thread over the weekend I tried it with my wifes Clie. It was a jpeg picture taken by the T610 cam but the clie rejected it saying unkown format (or something similar).
Maybe they don't speak the same IR lingo. I know ipaqs couldn't talk to palms for quite a while until the 3870 came out. You always had to use a software on the ipaq called peacemaker (I think thats the name).

Hi Ruff Rider,
Thanks for your reply.
Problem is on the Clie, becuase it is Palm Os the file format will not be recognised. In fact I have just tried this and the Clie rejects the image because it is unrecognised. So unless the 610 can send the image as a palm recognised format I need some software that will convert the image on receipt.
To get an image on the Clie normally I have to convert it using picture gear light on the PC.
Thanks for your help.
Cheers,
Sam.
Further to my last:
I guess people have had the same idea.
As I said, i am new to this forum. Must say I am very impressed with the people that are members both i terms of the techincal and fun content.
Long live SE!

Although this doesn't help your problem too much I want to clear up the "different types of IR" point...
There are only two types of IR standard. I forget the full names now but basically remote controls use one version whereas all electronic equipment (like phones) use the other standard.
Regards,
Phil.

Yeah phil.n is correct... they are "IrDA DATA" and "IrDA CONTROL" as documented on the official
Infrared Data Association website. Click Standards at the top.
However, with the data standard there can be different protocols and I guess it is this that makes the difference when my original ipaq couldn't talk to a palm without extra software (which presumably emulated the correct protocol). These protocols were added into the later ipaqs.

Just thought I would provide an update on this if you are interested....
There is a product for Palm OS call JPEGWatch. When I send the picture from the 610 to the Clie, the image is received fine. Just need to find out how to store it on the Clie fully.
For me it means the ability to save the pictures I take onto a 64Mb memory card, with a bit of work I can easily take more pictures then the phone can store.
Thanks again to all those that replied.
