I recently returned my T39m for service under warranty as the Bluetooth function did not work.

I have now been informed that they will replace my phone as it was too expensive to repair. The replacement phone will be shipped from their regional HQ in Stockholm apparently.

As far as I know the T39m was discontinued in December 2002 so I am wondering if I will be given a T39m replacement or if SE will replace it with a different model?

If any of you have been given a replacement for a T39m under warranty within the last 6 months I'd like to hear which model you were being given?

I have a friend who was offered the T68i, but she's not sure whether that was official company policy or just something the reseller improvised.

Come on know I realise the T39m is a little old - but hey this is supposed to be a forum for those people who relish vintage phones, right?

Surely, there must be someone in here who knows whether the T39m is still being distributed to replace T39ms that fail under warranty?

A friend of mine in Denmark sent his T66 (which was in the program longer than the T39) for repair a couple of weeks ago. He got more or less the same answr as you did, and got a T600 back instead. Of course, the T66 and T600 are very similar...

I wonder if my chatboard is compatible with the T68i.

Also, does anyone know what the screen resolution is on the T39m and the T68i respectively? Esato does not list this information unfortunately.

Oops ... found the info regarding T68i display resolution myself:

A whitepaper on the T68i at the Club SonyEricsson homepage lists it as 110 x 90.

Now I only need to find out the display resolution of the T39m. Hmm.. Perhaps an indication of this might be uncovered in the "themes" and screensavers section?

I'll go look.
