P800 is triband. Nokia 7650, which is said to be released Q2 2002, is only dual band

is this a Nokia 7650 versus a Sony-Ericsson P800 forum? well, i'll get a P800, of course. P800 looks like a toy? i'll get a P800. the keypad on the P800 looks frail? well, i'll definitely get a P800! the P800 design looks plastic and weak? i'll definitely get a P800!

bottom line is that.... we're all so tired of nokias now. nokias are okay, but for using it for sometime makes me sick at looking at its logo. besides, nokia has nothing compared to ericsson's technology. ericsson started it all!... ring tone composer? GPRS? e-mail capability? colored screen? indiglo screen? triple band? too many to mention.... all originated from the ericsson phones.

it's not even "nokia- the past, ericsson- the future"
it is: ericsson the past, present, and definitely the future.

Yea, e-son got a lot of nice features. But what good are they, when not working properly. My T68 has been nothing more than problems since I bought it. 4 sw upgrades, twice replaced, still same problems. Turns it self off, hangs up, misses calls when using gprs, can't find network when full coverage on others, the list is endless.... This was my last e-son, that's for sure. This post was posted from a T68

i understand your thought.
Im having the same problems with you almost...
even you have the most advance tech., but not confident.... why release it?? eg. the T68m, didn't have the features as it announced, still rushed them out. and now... many of us having the T68 without MMS, Photoalbum.. etc
what the heck is that for customer service?
all of us who brought T68 were tricked for sure!! who wants to have a "demo" phone gotta wait for upgrading to full version?????
damnit

No.

You, alone, might be tired. But I'm definitely not
You say Ericsson started it all. I must disagree with that. Nokia started smart messaging (ringtone download, picture sending, etc)... and given the success of this small but terrific enhancement, EMS was developped, because other manufacturers lacked it.
Email capability... Well, do you remember the communicator? Probably not. This was the first device allowing mobile internet, fax, email etc.
GPRS: as far as I know, Motorola was the first manufacturer to provide GPRS mobile phones. Certainly not Ericsson.
Color screen: about small devices, Trium and a small Taiwanese manufacturer came before Ericsson. Nokia came before Ericsson also, with the 9210 (note that I'm talking about GSM market).
Triple band: I must refer again to Motorola, and of also Siemens. Before Ericsson. Nokia had a worldphone as well, not triband, but really, do you care that much, as long as it offers global roaming
You also forgot, that we have mobile phones as they are now, because Nokia understood first the importance of a nice design combined with technology. Most (not all, but most) of the people don't buy technology, they buy a phone with a good look. Ericsson finally came up last year with an attractive phone, which conspicuously looks like a 8210. Siemens, Nokia or Motorola would have released one like this instead of Ericsson, I'm sure you'd be holding one in your hand right now

A bit of truth never hurts!
The future is a tough multi manufacturer competition which will lead to more exciting devices!

the fact that there are a lot of nokia people snooping in here at the ericsson site is an indication that they are admiring ericssons.

i have been using nokias before, but moved to ericssons. nokia communicator wasn't really marketed as a normal cellphone-size model with those capabilities, like a t68. so it cannot fall in there. any other so-called innovator designs were also even lighted up (i'll refrain from using "stolen") from the ericsson design desk. our discussion may go on further by saying that korean samsung and other japanese brands started many other features. but being succesful is one point. i revert back to my nokias, from time to time, just to see if i am missing something. but its OS hangs up on me often. well, all the functions on my ericssons work well. all the problems i have read at the forum doesn't happen to me and my network. btw, some of the problems must be caused by our network service. but here in my country everything works well with ericssons.

okay, sorry, i didnt really mean to fume the nokias. i guess they are really sensitive. but now i know (and wonder why) they are snooping in here.
have a nice day to all.

Boysaint, why are you refering to people by which make of phone they like??? It is possible that people can like different brands. I personally do not have a favourite mobile phone maker. I know that all companies have made good features in thier phones.
Its a fact that nokia have a wider audience, so they have to make more (less advanced) models, to cope with the demand. Ericsson however can make more elite models, because thier target audience isnt as vast.

Again i revert back to a point i have made in earlier posts.
"Would you buy a T68 if it had the nokia logo on it???"
