> vodafone menus aren't that bad!

I don't get what the big problem is.
You get a less expensive phone, with all the features of the original one. Of course Vodafone tries to get as many live customers as possible and so replaces SE's links with Vodafone ones. so, the links are different: who cares?
The menus are alike as far as I know, except for the different icons. You guys were really putting me off buying it from vodafone with so much bitching, but it ain't that bad!
Yeah, the menus look better on the original phone, but who cares? After the first week what you want is a great phone (which the 610 is) and not the best looking menus!

You can always pay £15 to get rid of the menus ... you can still access Vodafone live (in fact, the setting don't change), except it is from just one menu, not 3 plus two dedicated buttons !

I think the point was more one of principle more than anything else. The problem I had with it (apart from personally thinking they looked pretty garish) was that there seemed to be no logical reason whatsoever to have changed the icons in the first place. I made sure that the Vodafone store knew that when I took it back. Hopefully if enough people took them back then they may think twice about making absolutely pointless customisations in the future. Oh and a couple of the other things they had changed were annoying too - the 'More' button on the standby screen is genuinely useful and Voda handsets don't have it (they have the Live! button instead and the 'c' menu only has two of the six options on a normal handset's 'more' menu).
And besides the T610 is cheaper in general on Orange than on Vodafone anyway (at least in the UK).

@striker_pt ~ You are quite clearly either insane, blind or very stupid. (possibly all three..) The Vodafone T610 truly is A VERY BAD THING. Thank god it can be removed though! ^_^ ~Eva

I agree that vodafone shud'nt have messed with the menu in the 1st place. However ive seen both the menus and I prefer the vodafone icons, theyre better and are more colourful. The only thing I didnt like was do we really need 2 buttons linking to vodafone LIVE?

funny how i see someone recomending orange!
in the not so distant past they were the ones being accused of garish customisations!

Actually i like the T-Mobile customisation....
hmmm coming to think of it. it appears only the O2 version of this phoen is NOT customised.. intresting...
All this has bolstered a sneaky suspition i had that the T610 is actually a marketing ploy by SE to get people on the bandwagon. I mean its beign sold dirt cheap. and is an advanced phone.
the "real" t68i replacement is yet to come?
