The problem I am facing on my P800 is that if I receive another call while I am on a call, then the other person on the line could hear the call waiting beep on my phone and he/she can understand that I have another call coming, which I don't want them to know. Is there any way to get around this? . I am having R2D. Any help will be much appreciated

Not sure, but any well trained ear can hear call waiting on the other end of a phone - mobile or land line.
To the person on the phone it normally sounds like a short sharp break on the link, a small gap of silence. You don't normally hear the actual beep.
Can you confirm what's actually happening in your scenario?

That beep is like the Ericsson's AXE system for landline phones. It's a network thing, which you can't remove.

Please clarify what you mean by this? Ericsson's AXE system is
not just for landline phones, it's also probably one of the most popular switching platforms used on GSM networks, and is not the cause of the poster's problem.
The poster's problem seems to be that if he has call waiting activated, the person on the other end of the line can hear the call waiting beep as well.
This should not happen, only the subscriber to call waiting should hear the beep, it should be private. It is possible that the P800 is 'echoing' the beep back up the line.

Well I didn't know that Ericsson's AXE was used for GSM. Since I am on the PABX department and not WNM (wireless network management).
And here in sweden we can hear the beep as a soft click when someone calls the one I talk to. So I was thinking that maybe this was the same thing. So it's probably the AXE echoing the "beep" back to the other persons phone. And not the P800. Best way is just to call SE and hope that one gets to a person who actually knows something.

It's unlikely to be the AXE (or any other exchange for that matter... who say's he's connected to an AXE?

) causing this problem.
I am 100% certain it's the P800 echoing the beep back, I would doubt that the person hearing the beep can hear it very clearly.
I also work in the PABX department and also AXEs, what product(s) do you work on?

I am at the contact center taking the calls at Flextronics Network Services in Sweden. That is companies report problems on like Fenix 50/250, MD110 Meridian option 11, 61, 81 and I just make sure that a tech goes out. Sorry if it looked like I am a tech, I am not. I just talk to them on a daily basis.
So I just called an AXE tech because I was very unsure about this and he says that this is suppose to happen when using "Call Waiting". And not otherwise. So when using "Call Waiting" it's suppose to send a beep so that both can hear it.
Hope that clears it up. Because I rather trust a tech who has worked with AXE since Ericsson released it then anyone else.
Remove "call waiting" and this should stop.

Nope, I'm afraid you're wrong.
I think you may have your wires crossed,
For example:
I am on the phone to Lord Mike and my mum calls me
I will hear a beep, and my mum will hear a beep or a message to say she is waiting
Lord Mike should hear nothing
This is how it is supposed to work, and I'd rather trust actual facts than what someone else tells me.
PS. If you're not technical, why in your post do you have mention MD110 BC11 software?

No that is not how it's suppose to work. Both are to hear a beep. But that's how it works in Sweden. Ericsson could have made it different for other countries. All I am saying is that I have to trust the techs since they have worked with this product since it arrived on the market.
Because they are my interrest. I know almost nothing about it and I try to learn basics on how they work. Thus making it into a hobby.
If I am not all wrong, BC11 is the latest version. And BC12 will be out in winter. Though I don't count on it.
Just called SE and they said that this is on AXE and not in the P800. One more source I trust more.

How can you say it is in the AXE when we don't even know if the network this guy is connected to even uses AXEs????
Before I told you you didn't even know that the AXE was used as a GSM switching platform.

will obviously blame the AXE, but I have a feeling that you put the words into their mouth, no way would you ask about a user hearing a beep and they would say "aha it sounds like an AXE issue."
You seem to want to get into an argument about your people knowing more than me, I for one don't care, I'd just like to get to the bottom of the problem.
