I have downloaded quicktime 6.3 and still can not convert movies to mpeg4, do I need the pro version to do this.

yep you need pro to get all the added filters to make various formats. it is well worth the $29.99 since others like pvauthor are $59.99. plus you can download a 3gpp plugin for QT that is really cool. I rip 25 minute South Park episodes to my msduo @ 11-12mb! you can get an entire season on 1 duo...QT pro has a lot of user friendly tools and unlike the other programs out there, it is either as complicated or easy as you want it to be! a best bet for mp4 and 3gp files! jeez i sound like an apple sales man
