> T9 problem in R7A005?
Bookmark topic
I had a T68m way back in March 2002, the firmware was upgraded in June 2002 to one of the early T68m(i) MMS versions. In this version the T9 had a function whereby if I wanted to type John with a capital J I just typed john then pressed the * button. This would scroll me through 3 choices:- john John JOHN (then back to john). This was very handy as you just typed away and then sorted out capitalization afterwards. My T68m(i) has been away for repair for 6 MONTHS!! Now it has firmware R7A005 and this function has gone. Has it been moved to another menu or is there another method for doing it? Now I have to press * (sometimes three times) to get a capital letter, then wait a while, then press * again to go back to lower case and then continue typing the rest of the word. Not a big deal I know but it does add time to an already very slow T9 system. Thanks.

I experienced the same problem when I had T68i (R8A). The function is still there, but for some reason it took a lot of semi-random clicking to get it to work. Sorry, can't be of more help...

You are right, I just messed around with it. You have to type 'john' then accept with YES button then left joystick to highlight the word again then scroll through the 3 options using the * key. What a long way round!!
