> T28 cable and R1L firmware

Hi
I just flashed my phone with the R1A081 as I read on a site that you need a modified T28 cable for R1L as you need to be able to flash the modem chip as part of the upgrade or something.
I only got my T28 cable 2 days ago and didn't know whether it would be ok for R1L or not, the site also said that if the cable isn't a modified one it can kill the phone.
Can anyone elaborate on this in laymans terms?

I was going to get a log for the R1L firmware from a site, but the site owner told me that he was redrawing the service casue some ppls phone was crashing... and he was going to get it sorted out. So it seems there is a genuine problem.

About the laymen terms, im not sure about why u would need a modified cable...im pretty new to this flashing thing... (Got my t610 today from a guy on ebay - £180 - and think its class... cant use it yet cause i dont have a vodaphone sim, but the t300 will do till i get it sorted.
