Hi,

Has anyone in the UK managed to order a service only package and if so where from?

Also could anyone please answer the following:

1. Does the P800 client allow you to select local serial port for interfacing a GPS via the HCD-10 cable on the HCA-20 carkit? I am guessing a null modem will also be needed since the P800 is DCE and the GPS module is DCE.

2. Have you found the service in the UK reliable? I don't know where their servers are based.

3. Anyone using the carkit, do you get the sound out of the phone's internal speaker as opposed to the carkit? It would be neat to be able to use the carkit's telemute line to attenuate the stereo when directions are given.

4. If you lose GPRS coverage, I guess you are still OK provided you have your route already downloaded. I suppose it uses a series of waypoints to navigate, but does it only load a couple of waypoints ahead so you always need connection?

Any other feedback would be appreciated.

Thanks for your help,

Jo

I have had a response from Wayfinder who say that their client software only supports bluetooth GPS devices. How pants is that?! I really hope this is a case of the customer service person not understanding the question :|
