Can anyone cast any light on what this function is? When is it used? Who uses it? and how can I test it???

Cheers

The PUSH inbox is for when SP will use something known as PUSH services, this is where the SP send down advertisements to the phones.... so when you walk into your local food market you could get messages in the PUSH INBOX on what brands might have discounts.

Hi friends,

The push message is actually part of the wap protocoll. This allows the "server side" to push a message out to the client (phone) without having a "datasession" running. This means for example when someone sends an MMS to you, your phone will have to be notified that there is an MMS for your number availble at the MMS central (server). This notification is a wap push message. Since there is no way to initiate a GPRS sesion from the "server side" today, SMS is used as a carrier service to send the "wap push message" to your phone. It can also be used to send adverts, stock updates and such of course. If you really want to learn more about this you will find documents about wap at the ericsson.com site.

Cheers!
