If you have gotten a T300 or 600 series phone, you really want to avoid doing a reset on it. Many of the settings, including games, wap/gprs, and photo messaging, are not hard wired into the phones, like with T68's, and other manufacturer's phones. Many a returned 306 has been wiped doing a reset, which is what is done when a cust returns one becuase the don't like it or don't want service. Same with T316. I am betting same with 600 series, but not going to test it, to expensive. Cingular can provide you with the photo messaging settings. If u need, ask the rep to look in AskJack using the search "photo messaging." Games are gone permanantly. Wap/gprs settings, you have to get yourself. There is no document that reps have access to that have those settings, because Cingular cannot take responsibility for that.

Yeah, I did the 13 sec trick on my T306 and wiped out everything.. I could really care less about the games, but I had to manually reinstall the GPRS, CSD and Photo messaging settings. But that T306 was really fast in the end... To me, it was worth it

So basically, you just posted what the phone tells you as soon as you press master reset. The phone warns you of this.
This message was posted from a T300

I always do a full backup before master-reseting the phone.. An interesting fact: I needed to transfer my data from a customized Cingular T68i to my new T610 and I was thinking that I will get only the contacts transferred.
But all of a sudden I saw that I got GPRS/CSD/Data Accounts restored also - which was kind of nice
(most of the programs I used to use with my old T68 will give some kind of an error message once I try to use them with the T610)

The Cingular T306 doesn't warn you that all the stuff goes bye-bye. Just does it. All the other phones have internet seetings hard wired into the phone. Since most users on this forum probably are interested in wireless internet, and maybe photo messaging, thought I would throw out a warning, especially since you will get zero help from CIngular regarding settings for wap/gprs, and, in my experience, most reps do not know where to find the settings for photo messaging.

The program I used was PhoneBackup v1.4.4 by Mikael Christersson.
I may show you a pic of how it looks like.
