Hi,
My P800 just seems to have gone dead!
Wont turn on any more, and when I plug it in my PC it just says "connecting" so I cant get any of my files off of the phone,
Does anyone know if there is anything I can do?
If the phone is really knackered would I be able to get an instant replacement by taking it back to where I got it from? (the link)
Thanks!

Take it to a SE SC, you have a 1 year warranty so use it. ^_^

You can only take it back to the shop within 28 days of purchase.

OK Thanks,
Do you know if there is a service centre in downtown New York by any chance?
Also, is there any master reset button or anything on the phone so that I could reset the phone without having to turn it on?
Thanks again

yo jim shady.
this was the final problem i had with my p800 before i decided to start using it as a doorstop.
if im correct than your battery's burnt out from 'overcharging'. se claimed this was my fault so it doesnt come under warranty.
to all other p800 users- only charge your phone ever 2-3 days. or else your brick will not only crash but will also collapse.

Try this:

Fully charge the battery and see if it will start again.

This has happened to my P800 twice, both times did the memory get filled up.

Expect to loose all your data from the phone memory... But you can always restore it from your backups. I don't think a Service center can save your data from a P800 once it's disk has become corrupted.

OK Thanks,
The memory is almost full so i think that that may be the problem,
I will try to fully charge it, but, when trying it with a different battery it still wouldnt load up,
I'll see what it does anyway,
Thanks again

The second time this happened it took 2 days for the phone to come back to life. I had almost given up on it, but then it finally came back to life and reformatted it self

My advice: get a HUUUUGE Memory stick and use it for everything. Don't store more than you need in the phone memory.

How did you get it to come back again?
Did you just leave it plugged in and then eventually you managed to get it to turn on?
Thanks

I fully charged the battery and then turned the phone on.

It can take a few attempts... But in the end it worked for me.
