I just got my T610 Serial cable but I can't seem to connect the phone to my PC.
I just want to upload ringtones, and pictures. And download my pictures.
Can anyone tell me why my PC does not detect the phone?
I am on WinXP Pro, Pentium 4. Any help would be appreciated! Thank you!

So... what software do you have on your pc? You don't give many details of your setup. Did you install mobile phone monitor? did you configure it to make the serial port active? are you using sendfile or some other program? Are you able to synch with outlook?
any clues like this may help someone give you an answer quicker!

sorry to hijack this thread but does anyone know of any software that would let me manage my calender on the T68i without needing outlook? I have software for phonebook and sms but not the calendar?
I should point out that I dont use IR or BT at the moment, just a data cable.

what? you can send files to T610 with a cable, but it is not possible to send something from T610 to the computer with cable, it is only possible with IR or Bluetooth.

The only way anything could happen without software being installed would be if the phone was usb, and had a dedicated set of drivers (preinstalled by windows).
As Microsoft dont/will probably never support hot pluggable mobile devices (non smart phones) it will always be necessary to install drivers/software

Okay, I did install the modem drivers, phone monitor, all software from Sony Ericsson. But still no avail. I also checked that my Com Port is working and that the device(T610 phone modem) thing is on my Hardware list (the control panel thing).
I am very upset now lol... God help me.
Is it true that i can only send files from IR or BT? Cause I think I bought the cable like looks like a Unlocking cable, but I believe you can send files through it... because SE has a similar data cable for the T68i.

I dont think you can send files without a sender app(?), only via irda or bt can this be achieved without.
