I was extremely bored last night and decided to send some photos to my girlfriend’s notebook. I used my T310 and everything worked perfectly, including the IR modem. The phone was recognized instantly and the internet connection was great.

Then I tried to use my T39. It takes the computer and extremely long time to recognize the phone and even so I am unable to do anything. The icon in the taskbar reads “T39 is in range” but apart from that, nothing. After a time, the IR icon in the taskbar would disappear. I uninstalled the latest Sony Ericsson software that I was using and I installed the software from the original T39 CD, including the IR Virtual COM port. Still no results.

The port is an IrDA Fast Infrared and the property sheet lists: Infrared Transceiver A: HP HSDSL-1100/2100; Infrared Transceiver B: SIR Transceiver. The drivers are provided by National Semiconductor, version 1.0.0.0. The IR port on the T39 seems to be working, since the two phones are able to talk between them. Any thoughts?

Adjust the speed and/or duplex mode. If I remember correctly, you made your own IR adapter, so the driver might not be right.
