> unable to install bluetooth software :(
Bookmark topic
hi guys... pls someone help me out here. i tried searching the forum but couldn't find a solution anywhere.
i have a bilionton blutooth adaptor and the driver cd the came with it was accidentally broken. i couldn't find the billionton drivers anywhere on the net so i downloaded first the 'tdk 1.3.2.7' and then the 'widcomm 1.3.2.7 drivers'. the problem is that after i finish the installation of the software the "bttray" or the bluetooth icon doesn't appear on my taskbar at all. when i check the proocesses running it does show "bttray.exe" though. i tried ending the process and then tried running bttray.exe again but again the same thing happens; no icon in the taskbar.
"my bluetooth places" doesn't open either. whether the drivers are compatible with my adaptor or not is a different issue, but they should atleast run on my system. i have tried installing these drivers on win2000, winxp and winME but with the same result on all three.
i'm going bananas for the last week or so trying to get things working and honestly i've lst hope now. anyone with anyclue as to whats going on pls reply.
thanx.

I know this probably wont help, but at least you know your not the only person having problems:
I tried to install my Trust USB dongle on my mates PC using the supplied drivers (they work on my system) and have the exact same problem as you.
It might be a problem assciated with common software (windows vesions for example), and if so. ARRRRSE!!
But if not, and theres a fix, please let me know

1. uninstall anything you installed dealing with bluetooth or phones.
2. goto
BT install guide
3. DL the TDK software plus crack
4. grab the latest drivers from c0mm0n for your BT dongle.
5. grab the erricson software from the above site as well.
6. follow the instructions on the above site. just pretend you are using a tecom device.
7. let me know what happens......
Note: the site won't be up until 6pm PST
Its up!
