The name of network appears twice on the screen, 1st line says vodafone P and the 2nd appears VODAFONE. Anyone knows how to keep just one of them?
Thanks.

Well I'm in Spain so I get Vodafone E displayed, so I assume the P in your case is for Portugal.
You can select from a list of networks available to you by going Menu > Connectivity > GSM Networks > Preferred networks. Select the network thats causing you a problem, and you can change its name.
Hope this helps.

It didn't work.
But I found something curious, when I use an old vodafone SIM card the screen only shows "vodafone P", the "VODAFONE" disappears.

I think if i remember correctly, you need a new sim card.

My guess would be that the operator has a name on the sim-card and "sends" a name through the net. On my operators old sim-cards the display has two rows: Telia S and Mobitel.
With the new card the display just states Telia.

It would help if you'd have told us what kind of phone you have. This happens if you have an older phone where the network is identified by the software as "VODAFONE", but the newer card forces the phone to display the newer "vodafone P" name. Is this the case?

I have a T610 (next to my username, posts and location there is a T610 photo, so no need to repeat it)
My SIM card has only one month, and my mother's sim card has 3 years (and is the one that's show only 1 line).
It looks that sim cards are downgrading around here.
When I make a search for networks with my SIM it finds "VODAFONE" and other 2 operators, but when I search using my mother's SIM card it finds "vodafone P" and the other 2 operators.
So it really looks that my new SIM cards has 2 names for the same network.

I am not such an idiot as to not notice what phone you use as an avatar, but some people use an "imaginary" or "hope-to-own-soon" phone pic.
Anyway, it appears that this is caused by your sim card. If it is only one month old, pretend that it causes problems to the device so that they can replace it for free.
