possibly may be going to work in the US (LA). I have only just got my lovely T610 and would be sad to have to give it up. Its locked to Orange at the moment. My question is. can I just get it unlocked, take it to the States and sign up with a telco there and keep on talking or is it more complicated than that.
How much does it cost to unlock. I heard that the government has or is going to make it illegal to unlock phones is this so, when might it happen?
I will have to keep paying my orange contract but such is life, there is no way around that one I think!

GSM is taking off in the U.S. but in Southern California most of the coverage is 850,then 1900 and only the T616 supports 850,1800,and 1900.You can still use your T610 but the coverage will be much better on the T616.Cingular is probably your best bet for Southern California.Unlock your phone before you go to the States because not many people do it here. Hope you like living in the U.S.
