I just bought a factory unlocked Samsung S-200. The only 2 choices of networks on the phone are Cingular and AT&T. I use T-Mobile and the phone works fine but my screen will always say Cingular or AT&T. I just wanted to make sure that I am using the T-Mobile network and not going to be billed by Cingular or AT&T. Thanks for the help.

If you are a T-mobile customer and have a national plan, you will NEVER have roaming charges unless you leave the country. As long as you have a GSM signal, you are only using minutes, and are not being charged any extra.

yes, I have the same. My phone is not t-mobile and it displays Cingular as well since T-mobile using Cingular-built network. The problem I am having is that my SIM would not allow me to roam on AT&T. Not sure why...

cingular and t-mobile have had an agreement for a while now. However AT&T and T-mobile agreement is still not active although they signed it about 2-3 months ago. I believe they are going to start it soon so you may use AT&T as well.

My brother says he can use either t-mobile or at&t in St. Paul. He is an at&t customer. He said it started working a couple of days ago on t-mobile.

When I look at the available GSM networks on my P800 here at home on Long Island, NY, both T-Mobile and ATT come up as available (I am a T-Mobile customer). When I try to select ATT as the GSM network to use, I am cycled back to T-Mobile; I am not permitted to select ATT. My phone was purchased unlocked from a third party, so that isnt it.

I currently bought a T616 from a third party vendor. Knowing the "locks" were unlocked, the person told me I still can use my Tmobile SIM with the T616 Cingular unlocked phone. So I plug it in and the phone turns on and after a minute, the screen comes up and keeps "Searching" for a signal. I do get antenna bars on the upper left side, but im not sure if that is relavant. I just sent my phone in to SE to see if they can update the software and remove the cingular objects that seem to be embedded in the phone. Well it was initially a cingular phone after all....
Funny thing is that the T616 worked with a ATT SIM. Any thoughts?

Thanks

AT&T does not have a roaming agreement setup with T-Mobile in the NYC areas, so your ATT SIM is blocking you from accessing the network.
