Hi Guys,
It's official! Camcorder drains your battery like niagara falls! I should think that I'm going to uninstall it.
Someone wants to back me up on this?

I'll back ya up. Uninstall it... it's just a beta. Wait for the final version to be out. It "might" be better.

I agree. Just wait for the final version and the official release of SE.

Sure! By the way, what is beta? Some sort of trail version or something?
I don't mind to pay for the final version (if it comes out) but I'm expecting it to have audio capability and longer than 10 sec of course.

honestly speaking. sony after sales is really poor.

First you got alpha which is extremly unstable, but you can start it. Then you got beta which is a bit buggy but closer to final version. Though tend to crash a lot or do other stuff it's not suppose to and wont do things it is suppose to.

I see! Thanks for explaining that as most of the nice people here just flame you with DO A BLOODY SEARCH!
In this end, what's the final version call? Much appreciated.

I don't think anyone knows when the final will arrive. It first has to be tested versus the other apps in the phone. Like what happens when I start vidcam and normal cam is runnig... if it crashes.. back to the board, but that worked so what happens when the vidcam is on and you start the cam.. it might crash, back to the board.
Slow going being a program tester

Yes, CamCoder does drain the battery significantly while in use, but after you have finished using it, just close it & it will stop draining your battery. I couple of times in the last few days I have seen my battery drop a lot in a short amount of time, but sure enough each time I had forgotten to close CamCoder.
I think it drains so much battery because it leaves the viewfinder active even when you change to another program. If you look at the Communicam program, as soon as you change to another task, the screen will just display the SE logo.
I am not surprised that the CamCoder beta doesn't have this function written into it, but I will be very surprised if the final version is the same. I do believe there will be a final version. Check out the topic I started "Camcoder: The Details." to see what Philips has released about the program they are developing.

Does anyone knows if SE will ever make Camcoder or something similar available in an firmware upgrade?
Or all we're talking about is some third party software?
And did SE ever released those camera's API, so we can develop our own video recorder applications?
