> T610 - SMS pending problem

I have had my T610 for a couple of days and, on the whole, I am very pleased with it. But there are two very annoying problems:
1. The "SOS calls only" message (very well documented on Esato).
2. SMS status doesn't seem to work. I don't get any delivery reports (which I did on my T68i), and if I go to my "sent" list and view a message's status, it always says "pending"- regardless of whether it has actually been delivered. I've assumed that this is a 'phone fault (I have R1A081, has this been fixed in the latest OS?), but could it be a network problem (I'm on 02-UK)?

o2 dont support them unless u type *0# infront of ur txt which is why u only get pending

How do I but a * in a text message? The * key changes the case of the character.

Thanks for that.
It is still annoying that the "View Status" option says that each of the messages is "pending" though.
