After converting a few of my favourite tunes into wav format and then setting them as my ringtone. I realise now its all about having wav ringers
Don't you agree?
Try it out and hear the difference

I also have a wav as a ringtone...... i agree with you but wavs are larger than polys in size and there are some polys that are loud enough if the volume is that which you dont like

Well obviously WAV's are gonna be better than MIDI and polyphonic tools. If you got the space and the know how its gravy.

@bktoh
Extend this with .WAV recordings etc. for:
Email - "Email, just received!"
SMS - "SMS, just received!"
MMS - "MMS, just received!"
...obviously with some colourful variation on the spoken message - someone cut/mix Tony Blair's voice....?
LOL. Steven.

Had extracted the beginning of Sting's "Shape of my heart" guitar interlude for my ringtone. It is really a winner...
Also, Monty Python's chorus "Always look on the bright side of life" is also a head turner...
Both of the above are about 1.6mb though...
Am using Audacity for Mac (Freeware) to extract from my regular CD or mp3s. Fine piece of software...
