Ok i have started a new thread beacuse i noticed the other one was mainly about battery life after the camcorder software has been installed. I have not installed this but have noticed over the past few days my battery lasts for about 10-12 hrs without really using the phone. So i am going to go for a software update- problem is cpw will not touch the phone as it is on orange. Hopefully Inter city mobile can help me out.

Any good tips for battery life?

try using file man in tracker or a like program to see if you have lots of apps running in the background, if you do then i suggest you close those programs, i used this method and have seen that my p800 usually goes for about 55 hrs continuous on and with pretty decent use of various apps including watching 1/2 hour mp4's

Andy, sorry to say that a software upgrade aint gonna help... I upgraded mine and it has only made it worse!

Your best bet is to call up orange (who have a great service) and they'll sort you with a new battery.

My battery life is dire. I am not a huge user compared to some - I do no vids or music, but do lots of sms, maybe a total of 1hr of calls a day, bluetooth is mainly on and the battery barley makes 20 hrs befpore charging. My firmware is the R2D. Every thing mainly works so I am loath to change to F. I had a Nokia 3650 [until it was stolen] and that went for days with the same use.
Anyone think I should be changing my battery? If so how? Had this phone for 10 days, the one I has for 2 weeks before that had a fault but the battery life wan't any better.

Hi,

I too had good experience with the Richmond CPW (I am a CPW customer tho'!). HOWEVER, CPW are service cenbtre so SHOULD take the phone and do the upgrade.

I use SMAN 1.1a, and have it set for 'Flipclose flush' and 'Forced endtask'.

My battery life, with per day, 30 mins talk, 15 mins , loads of game play = 50 hrs plus...

Steven.
